Lisa Raleigh: The Woman Putting the Joy Back into Movement

Share

Lisa Raleigh is not just a wellness entrepreneur—she’s a woman on a mission. For over two decades, she has dedicated her life to health and fitness, but it wasn’t until she discovered rebounding that everything truly fell into place. Today, as the founder of bounti (her rebounding-based fitness brand), Body Kind (an inclusive athleisure range), and plenti (a wellness product line), she has built an empire rooted in balance, science and sustainability.

“I’m incredibly passionate about low-impact, high-reward movement that’s kind to your body, deeply effective, and accessible to everyone; whether you’re a beginner, recovering from injury, pregnant, or just trying to juggle family and work,” she explains. For Lisa, movement is about more than fitness. “My goal is to help people feel stronger, more energised, and more empowered to take charge of their own wellness…Because when you feel good, you can do good in every area of your life!”

Her own turning point came after years in the industry, testing every fad and fitness craze. “After spending over 16 years in the wellness industry, I felt like I’d seen it all… But nothing really ticked all the boxes, until I discovered rebounding! For the first time, I’d found a form of movement that was truly inclusive, and something that literally anyone, at any stage or age, could do.” It wasn’t just about fitness—it was about joy, accessibility, and a kind of healing movement that worked on the body and the mind.

Often referred to as the “miracle modality”, rebounding is, at its core, a low-impact workout done on a mini-trampoline. “Don’t be fooled by the simplicity,” Lisa insists. “It’s scientifically proven to be one of the most effective, efficient, and kind-to-your-body movement modalities out there! Unlike high-impact exercises like running, rebounding protects your joints while still giving you an intense strength and cardio workout. It’s up to 68% more effective than running, 11 times more powerful than walking, and even twice as effective as swimming.”

Her bounti method has since evolved into a holistic programme that blends dynamic cardio, resistance training, mobility, recovery, and lymphatic stimulation. “With bounti, you’re not just doing a workout; you’re joining a movement that redefines what effective, intelligent, and sustainable fitness can look like.”

Rebounding Through Pregnancy

One question Lisa often faces is whether rebounding is safe for expectant mothers. “The short answer is yes, if your body is already familiar with the modality, and you’ve been rebounding consistently before falling pregnant,” she says. But she is quick to add that every pregnancy is unique and requires medical approval first. “We’ve had three of our incredible bounti instructors safely bounce throughout their pregnancies, and for them, it’s honestly been a game-changer! Because it’s low-impact and kind on the joints, rebounding offers such a gentle, supportive and effective way to move your body during this precious time.”

However, she cautions that pregnancy is not the time to experiment with rebounding for the first time. Guided classes, qualified instructors, and pregnancy-specific programmes are key. “We’re actually working on launching a bounti Bump programme soon, designed to help expecting mums bounce safely, mindfully, and confidently throughout each trimester!”

Always get the go-ahead from your doctor or gynae first. Every pregnancy is unique, so professional guidance is non-negotiable.

Listen to your body. Pay attention to breath, heart rate, energy levels and comfort. If it doesn’t feel right, stop.

Invest in a supportive sports bra. “Your breasts go through big changes during pregnancy, and the right bra can make all the difference when bouncing,” Lisa notes.

Follow a qualified instructor or pregnancy-specific programme. This is not the time to DIY.

Modify as you go. Each trimester is different. “Don’t be afraid to scale things back, add a support bar, or swap intensity for stability.”

For Lisa, rebounding is far more than exercise—it’s empowerment. It’s a way for mothers to carve out time for themselves without guilt, to feel stronger in their bodies, and to enjoy fitness in a way that brings joy rather than dread. As she says, “Prioritising your health gives you the energy, vitality and headspace to show up for your family as the best version of yourself: more present, more patient, and more empowered.”

And Lisa’s journey is far from slowing down. Looking to the future, she is expanding bounti beyond rebounding alone. From bounti BOOTS (wearable rebounders) and bounti FLY (bungee fitness), to Barrelates (a Pilates-Barre hybrid) and bounti Air(aerial yoga), she is redefining what “low-impact, high-reward” movement can look like. She is also continuing to grow her plenti wellness range, planning roadshows, hosting WellCations (wellness retreats blended with holidays), and even eyeing the launch of her first international studio.

Her excitement is infectious:
“We’re constantly creating new classes, working on exciting new programmes, and most importantly, listening to our community’s needs. Innovation and accessibility will always be at the core of everything we do.”

For parents, expectant moms, or anyone searching for a sustainable, joyful way to move, Lisa Raleigh is proof that fitness can be playful, empowering, and utterly life-changing.
