In an ideal world it takes a village to raise a child but what happens when moms or dads don’t have a village on speed dial?
Having a village that comprises of family relatives or close friends is an privilege not many are entitled to, since the concept of a village has been stripped away by the post-modern societal norms and our busy lives.
For most parents it feels like a village is something they would have to pay for like getting a housekeeper, a nanny or even daycare services. These alternatives would afford parents a spare hour or two of leisure, a nap or even a catch up with friends.
Parenthood is sometimes a difficult responsibility and having someone to lighten the load makes a world of a difference in our modern society; although this may seem hard to reach.

Here’s a few tips to from our desk to help you create or find your own a village of support:
- Parents community build up at the park
- Start or join a parent’s club in your complex or area
- Set up play dates with colleagues or members in your community
- Arrange sleep overs with a well-established mom’s group
- Support groups physical or virtual for mental and emotional support.
