South African comedian, actor, and writer Trevor Noah announced the official launch and release date of his next book in July, and it’s a children’s book unlike his NYT Bestselling debut. Titled Into the Uncut Grass, the children’s picture book is set to feature the illustrations of renowned American children’s book illustrator Christopher Myers.
His sophomore book is, according to him, for children of “all ages”.

Ahead of the book’s official release, the website billed the book as being: “illustrated fable about a young child’s journey into the world beyond the shadow of home, a magical landscape where he discovers the secrets of solidarity, connection, and finding peace with the people we love.”
It is also described as “a tale of adventure and companionship that beautifully evokes the rewards of kindness, curiosity, and interdependence in a world of conflict.”
The book features the helping hand of Christopher Myers, who won a Caldecott Honor in 1998, a medal given out yearly to honour that year’s most excellent American picture book for children. Apart from being a respected artist, Myers’s work is sure going to be a hit with the little ones as his mission is to always portray black people in a positive light.
Written with Noah’s humour and social awareness and Myers’s positive portrayal of Black roots, Into the Uncut Grass promises to be a picture book filled with giggles and teachable moments.
