Being a first-time mother is quite the journey, and leading with love is putting your best step forward. This Mother’s Day, we want to shine a light on new and young moms who have recently transcended into one of the biggest stages of their lives.

We spoke to Nosisa about her ascension into motherhood and how she feels ahead of their first Mother’s Day.

Describe your experience of motherhood so far in one word.

AMAZING.

What’s something about motherhood you wish you knew before having your little one?

I wish I knew that children are unique and reach milestones at different rates. I used to compare my baby with other children and it used to stress me out.

What’s the one thing you’re enjoying about being a mom?

I really enjoy having someone to play with and watch reach milestones. I love the wet kisses and the giggles and smiles I get as soon as he wakes up.

What’s the one lesson your grandmother has given you about parenthood that you will keep with you forever?

I have my grandmother teach me the importance of keeping baby safe and watching out for dangerous toys. I also got a few tips on feeding and health tips.

How do you feel about experiencing your very first Mother’s Day?

My baby just started standing and clapping his hands. This melts my heart with joy. Mother’s day this year means something to me now rather than just a day I helped my grandmother celebrate.

What would you like to say to your baby this Mother’s Day?

Amile, you gave my life meaning and purpose. You give me joy even on gloomy days. You make me want to hold on even when I want to give up. To a soft life, son! I love you.
